Era un sabato sera di dicembre. Ero nella mia stanza e stavo bevendo molto più del solito. Mi accendevo una sigaretta dietro l’altra pensando alle ragazze, alla città, e agli anni che avevo davanti a me. Guardavo davanti a me e non mi piaceva quasi niente di quello che vedevo. Non ero un misantropo o un misogino ma mi piaceva star solo. Si stava bene seduti tutti soli in uno spazio ristretto a fumare e a bere. Avevo sempre fatto ottima compagnia a me stesso.
